A straw "stalagmite". At one time this was a straw column but it fractured leaving this guy on the floor only!
Some very fine helictites.
The Suspended Table in Lake Cave. Photograph courtesy of Peter Bell - Augsuta Margaret River Tourist Bureau.
Some of the wonderful flowstones in Mammoth Cave in the South-West of Western Australia. Photograph courtesy of Peter Bell - Augsuta Margaret River Tourist Bureau.
An interesting water drop photo. The end of this straw is obviously still trying to calcify. Photograph courtesy of Peter Summers.
A water drop straw formed from a tiny filament of calcite.
A "bleeding" flowstone. This is the most graphic examle of this formation that I have seen.
The Main Chamber in Jewel Cave at Augusta (WA). Photograph courtesy of Peter Bell - Augsuta Margaret River Tourist Bureau.
The "Shaving Brush" - the remnants of two layers of calcite, water washed to leave this interesting formation.
The end of a straw pendulite. Unfortunately this formation has since been destroyed.
The final chamber in Strongs Cave, WA showing long straw stalactites and tree roots. This photograph was taken in the 1960's (?) by Peter Bridge and was donated to the WASG Slide Library by the photographer.
A caver "wowing" over a bunch of helictites. Second Prize winner - ASF Conference 1993.
A large cluster of Cave Pearls. The largest of this is approximately 2.5cm in diameter.
A column from a Yanchep Cave? Impressive for a Yanchep cave - they are usually small and contain only small decorations.
